    On 17 December 2010, the government approved the implementation of the MRT project. Gamuda-MMC JV was appointed as Project Delivery Partner.

    The Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) arranged a three-month Open Day at Exhibition Hall 3, Mid Valley Convention Centre. It starts from 13 February to 14 May 2011, open daily from 10am to 9pm. One thing that was informed such as the proposed alignment of the 51km line consisting of 31 stations (Sungai Buloh-Kajang).

    Shahril Mokhtar, a Group Managing Director of Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad, clarified the article “MRT’s first contract runs into controversy” in The Malaysian Insider posted on 14 April. He said Prasarana and other agencies involved in this project will work in a transparent manner.
  • Over 30 Dialogues Organized

    SPAD held over 30 public engagement dialogues in Kuala Lumpur to give space for Local Councils, Members of Parliaments (MPs), Residents Associations and business owners to voice out their opinions on the MRT project.

    On 19 May 2011, Prasarana released a modification in the pre-qualification criteria for better civil works, stations and depots work construction for the KVMRT (Sungai Buloh-Kajang).

    Prasarana and representatives from the Department of Lands and Mines (JKPTG) and the Valuation and Property Services Department (JPPH), on 11 Aug 2011, informed property owners at Jalan Sultan that the part of the underground section will be along Jalan Sultan and therefore, will have to be acquired, as stated in the National Code 1965.

    Contractors attended the MRT pre-tender briefing at Prasarana in Kuala Lumpur, being warned of bribery or else, having their tenders terminated and would be reporting to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)
  • Letter to The Star Issued, Clarifying The Land Acquisition Issues

    On 3 Sep 2011, Mohd Nur Kamal, the CEO of SPAD wrote a letter to The Star regarding its article. In the letter, he stated that the land affected is compulsorily acquired under the Land Acquisition Act 1960 since it is solely for the technical needs for the MRT project, namely for the tracks whether elevated or underground, stations, and support facilities such as park and ride facilities.
