In the book, it states,"In the year, 1933 Baba was born"(24). The era that baba was born has a great impact on many things in the story. One thing is that his view on politics may be very diffrent from what they used to be.

In the Kite Runner, Amir states, "It was in that small shack that Hassan's mother, Sanaubar, gave birth to him one cold winter day in 1964" (6). This is an important event, because it signifies the first day of amir, and hassans relationship.

When Amir was talking about his father he mentions "In the late 1960's, when I was five or six, Baba decided to build an orphanage" (13). This shows that baba is a genorous person who wants to be helpful. He continues to show this throughout the rest of the story by giving to people in need.

When hassan gets raped and amir thinks ot himself "I actually aspired to cowardice, because the alternative, the real reason I was running, was that Assef was right: Nothing was free in this world. Maybe Hassan was the price I had to pay, the lamb I had to slay, to win Baba."(77). This incident in the book was a turning point. It's what caused Hassan and Ali to leave and Amir to feel guilt

At amirs 13th birthday, "Assef [came] with his parents" (95). In this event they are describng how Assef had went to Amirs birthday party which was shortly after the incident of what happend between Assef, and Hassan. This also shows how Amir's opinion about Assef has also changed

Amir finally cuts down the last kite in the tournament and Hassan excitedly says"You won amir agha! you won" (66). This is an important moment for Amir because this is what helped Amir gain recognition from his father, and the approval that he has always wanted.

Amir explains the situation in which he and Baba leave when he says, "There were others, in all about a dozen, including Baba and me, sitting with our siutcases between our legs, cramped with these strangers in the tarpaulin-covered cab of an old Russian truck" (Hosseini 110). This quote explains Amir's situation and how he feels uncomfortble and awkward with these stragners and the unfortunate situation.

In 1984 Baba introduces Amir to, "General Taheri" (138). This quote has a big impact on the plot of the rest of the book. It is important because the taheri's will be a part of his life for the rest of his life. This is also the start of Amir and Soroyas relationship.

Baba gets cancer even though it only "started with a hacking cough and sniffles" (153). This quote is important because Baba has played a very valuable role in the book which has had a great impact on Amir. This later affects the whole entire outcome of the plot.

When amir helps baba to bed, and tells him he will bring him his morphine Baba says "There is no pain tonight." (193) These are Baba's last words that he had said to amir before he had passed away. Baba died happily knwing that at least one of his son's is happy.

When amir was talking about him self and he says "Since he's married to Soraya now, Amir learns a few things about the Taheris"(174). This quote show the start of the marrige of amir and Soroya. This is an important event because soroya will play a key charachter later in the book

When talking about life with Soraya, Amir states, "In the summer of 1988, about six months before the Soviets withdrew from Afghanistan, I finished my first novel" (182). This shows that Amir has been working really hard to become a writter. His hard work has now payed off and his book was published, which was an important time in his life.
