    King George ii died of natural causes and George iii was the pre-determined sucessor to the throne. Being only 22 and of Hanoverian descent, his acceptance speech focused on the fact that his loyalties belonged to Great Briton. Being young, he was single and full of hope for the future. He worked diligently to bring an end to the 7 years war.

    A year after he was proclaimed king, george married Charlotte of Mecklenburg. The marrige was a political one and they met on the day of their marrige. Despite this, they had 15 children together and the marrige was fruitful.

    Lord North is known as the person that withheald the 12 years of paralemental stability. He also proposed many new policies into the parliment such as the stamp act. He also firmly supported George during the revolutionary war.

    The Tea Tax, forced upon colonists by King George iii, was met in America with anger and frustration. The further Great Briton got into debt, the more taxes the colonists had to pay. This tax sparked hatred across the colonies for Briton. It also began the portrayal of King George iii as evil. It is arguably what started the revolutionary war.

    With the begining of the Revolutionary war George's health would start to deteriorate. The stress of running a country and a war were more than he could bear. It lead to him being what many saw as insane, or as they would say in the time, "mad."

    In the decleration of independence George is refered to as a unreasonable tyrant. In reality; however, George didnt make many off of these taxes. In fact, it was the Parliament that made these desions.

    The defeat at Yorktown upset the King. He still wished to fight and continue the war. After extensive deliberation, Parliament made the final decision and George was forced to begin Treaty negotiations with the colonies. Negotiations would last for 2 years.

    With the stess of losing the war George finally snaps and falls into a long period of insanity that lasts several months. He was in excruciating pain, would at times be incoherent, and even lose sight. The events of this time have been depicted in both factual and fictional books, plays, and movies.

    King George has a second bout of insanity in 1804 but he recovors. After this event he acted more tired and quiet for the rest of his reign. During the next year, for fear of another bout of insanity, his son later king george IV became prince regent for the rest of Georges rule.
  • Final moments

    Final moments
    King George iii slips into his final bout of insanity and his son begins to act as Regent. Ten years later, on Janury 29, 1820, when while staying in Windsor Castle ,George dies. King george dies blind, deaf, and insane.
