Merlin gives him a potion that looks like Igraine's husband.

Uther tricks Igraine

Disguising himself as Igraine's husband he sneaks into her bed and she conceives Arthur.

Gorlois dies

Gorlois has been killed in his castle that very night Arthur was conceived

Igraine marries Uther

Igraine is convinced to marry Uther.

Igraine never got to see Arthur when he was born because Merlin the wizard raises Arthur away from his parents and raises him

Uther dies

Uther is wounded during an assassination attempt on Arthur. Merlin tries to heal him but due to Morgana's meddling, the spell instead kills him.

Merlin needs to a replacement for Uther's seat when he dies

Merlin designs Uther a great Round Table at which 150 people could sit at. Uther's death, nobody knew who should take his place. Merlin says that whoever can draw the mysterious sword out of a stone should be the next king.

Arthur visiting his foster brother

Arthur, who is attending his foster brother Sir Kay, is sent to find a sword to replace his brother's broken one.
