This increased the tension between the two nations as Britain argued that Americans were still their property, allowing the British to do whatever to them.

    Washington's Proclamation of Neutrality

    In response to the warfare happening in Europe, more specifically during the French Revolution, George Washington issued a Neutrality Proclamation stating their neutrality towards foreign powers to protect the young nation and its people. It was significant because it created a sense of betrayal from France as one of the United States' allies.

    Jay Treaty

    Signed by both representatives of the United States and Great Britain meant to settle matters unresolved since the United States' independence, along with being a means to avoid war. The treaty allowed Americans to resolve their unpaid debt, facilitate trade, and the British withdrew their troops from American territory. This treaty did provide a resolution at the time, but failed to resolve the lingering tensions between the two nations, leading to the issue of the impressment of sailors.

This escalated the tension in the relationship with each other.

    One of the Laws attempting to command respect for their neutral rights, the United States from Great Britain and France by closing all of U.S. ports for export shopping creating a decline in the economy. The significance of this was the continuation of the impressment of the American soldiers and trade restrictions, escalating the tension once more between the two nations.

    He delivered a speech towards Indiana Governor William Henry Harrison protesting against the Fort Wayne treaty made in 180,9, which sold three million acres of Native American Land. Declaring the treaty as illegitimate, arguing the land was communal and they had no right to be sold, he gathered allies for confrontation, who later participated in the War of 1812.

The Major significance of this event was that it marked the first time the U.S. had declared war on another nation, going against its own neutrality.

    It was a secret meeting held by New England federalists protesting against the economic damage caused by the war and opposing James Madison's policies put in place by the federal government. Although opposed to succession, they still proposed constitutional amendments, as well as the construction of new ones.

    The Treaty of Ghent marked the official end of the War of 1812, the Battle between the two nations of Great Britain and the United States. Both signed the Treaty of Ghent, resulting in Great Britain giving up its land in the Northwest territories, rebuilding its pre-war boundaries, and ending the slave trade. It didn't physically end till Jan 8, 1815, as news didn't travel as fast, so soldiers kept fighting.

Though the battle took place after the treaty was signed, they did not receive the news, but they aided in Andrew Jackson's rise to the presidency, playing a major role in the fight.
