As he opens the door he is greeted by one of Seward's servants William Bell and is taken upstairs, then Fanny told Powell that Seward was defenseless. As Powell walks behind Bell down the stairs he runs back up and stabs Seward a few times while fighting off a few people. He then swiftly escapes the mansion.
