The Scientific Image
"The Scientific Image" conveys Fraassen's ideas of Constructive Empiricism and Scientific Realism. He believes there is a difference between literal truth and empirical adequacy. Empirical adequacy is explicated in terms of "observables" and that the concept of what is observable changes with changing concepts and our environment. He also goes into what determines theory acceptance and the aims of science (Hanson).
