Charles Darwin embarked on a 5 year scientific expedition, at the age of 22. He was a naturalist, and went around the world during this voyage collecting different plants, fossils, and animal species to observe and study them. He explored many continents and saw different species he had never seen before. This voyage, especially to the Galápagos, is what helped his theory of evolution. -
Charles Darwin publishes his book The voyage of the beagle in 1839. This book discussed all of Darwin's observations and findings during his voyage.

The theory was that organisms change and adapt to their environment over time. He theorized that these species all came from one ancestor but due to different environments, they evolved differently.

In this book, Darwin further proves his theory of coevolution with plants and insects.
