Fr Therry begins the first Catholic school at Parramatta. 1835 John Bede Polding becomes Australia’s first Catholic bishop. 1909 Mary MacKillop dies. There are already 1000 Sisters of St Joseph. 1917 Mannix becomes Archbishop of Melbourne.
