    British troops fired on a crowd of protestors. Its believe the first shot came from the protestors throw objects at the british soldiers and one of the soldiers finger slip and fired the weapon. This made all the other soldiers fire as well 1st person killed was Crispus Attucks; he was a african american. John Adams was the attorney for the british soldiers.

    Most of the 13 colonies got together and talked about the problems with Britain. They discussed rights of the colonies. After this meeting they formed small militias called the minutemen to start recruiting and gathering weapons for war. 1st meeting was in Philadelphia. the year was 1774 but there is not a date as i know of.

    The British hears of the weapons the minutemen have stored up in Concord. The British go to try to seize these weapons. The British leave at night and walk to concord but Paul Revere, William Dawes, & Samuel Prescott warn the colonist and this gives them time to start getting the weapons out of concord. The minutemen meet the British in Lexington and stand on opposite sides of each other. the first shot was called "the shot hear around the world". The minute men run away.

  • Bunker Hill

    Colonist takes hill over looking Boston (Breeds Hill). British charge the hill 3 times until the colonist run out of ammo. A famous speech given to the colonist was "whites of there eyes". This speech means to shoot when they are close so you can kill them which if you kill a person with one bullet then you reserve ammo than firing shoots that miss. After the colonist run out of ammo they retreat but this battle was a morale booster to the colonist. This was also the deadliest battle of the war.

    Petition that try's to stop the war and be peaceful and they can talk about the problems in the colonies. The king of Britain refuses the petition and sends more troops to the colonies to fight.

    This was a turning point in the war. The patriots use guerilla tactics and kill most of this british army which keeps the british at the coastline. This helped the patriots by giving them the upper hand.

    This is the place George Washington keep his troops. Friedrich Van Steuben helped train the patriot army to make them better at fighting. Many soldiers died of starvation, cold, and disease.

    Victory for the patriots against the british. The patriots got the help of the over mountain men which were people who lived on the other side of the Appalachian mountains which help fight with the patriots.

    This was a battle in South Carolina which Daniel Morgan was in. Daniel was in the battle of Saratoga. Daniel Morgan had a idea which was that the patriot army volunteers were to fire to shots and run back over a mountain knowing the british would charge. When the british charge they ran over the mountain the patriots ran over to be welcomed by the rest of the patriot army.

    After Cornwallis was defeated at the guilford courthouse he retreats to York Town V.A. hoping the british fleet would be there to save them with the ships firing at the patriots. But the French which was helping the patriots cut off the british ships from coming in and the patriots stormed York Town which was a island or a Peninsula and the british were trapped. Cornwallis was forced to surrender if he and his men wanted to live.
