Great Depression
The Depression was perhaps the worst economic disaster in recent history. Thousands found themselves homeless, millions were unemploymed. Drought caused by poor farming practices harshly affected agricultural output. As aspects of Roosevelt's New Deal were enacted people went to work and farmers became educated. The beginning of World War II may have also contributed to the end of the Depression as war put millions of people to work, building planes, tanks, guns, and other munitions. -
