In 1600 Queen Elizabeth I started the Company. It was created because the english wanted to be able to trade with India. Because of this english became the langauge when the trading occured. This event has heavilly influeced how you talk in India. -

The trade of slaves begins
One part of the slave trading was called "The triangle trade" large ships would bring goods to west Africa they then traded the goods for slaves and continued their journey to the Caribbean. They then sold the slaves at auctions, and finally went back to england with cotton, tobacco and sugar. -
The first fleet
The first fleet that arrived in Port Jackson 1788. Was filled with about 708 english people. They were sent to Australia because they commited a crime and being sent to Australia was seen as a punishment. The english changed the australian language for ever and is a very important event in history.
