The first step is a person eats something that they are allergic to (also called an allergen) which causes an allergic reactiton for the first time.
-
-
Once the person has consumed or eaten the allergen, the body starts to produce an antibody or protein that will detect harmful substances in the future.
-
Once the body creates the antibody, it attaches itself to other cells in the body to help gaurd the body from allergens from entering the body again.
-
-
When the allergen is entered the body again, the antibodys are put to work and release a large amount of histamine.
-
Once the histamine is released into the body, it causes an irritation to occur.

Each individual is different, so each reaction is going to be different. Many reactions are hives, rashes, shortness of breath to even anaphylaxis shock.
