Immigration timeline

  • Alien Enemies Act

    Any male age 14 or older of a hostile nation that had not been naturalized are subjected to deportation or imprisonement. If they are not charged with violations to public safety they will be given a certain amount of time to leave the country.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    Prohibited Chinese from migrating to the United States.
  • Wartime Measure Act

    Authorized the refusal of visas to aliens whose presence in the U.S. would endanger the public.
  • Bring Them Home Alive Act

    Grants refugee status to nationals of countries that are holding Vietnam or Korean War POW's/MIA's if the nationals assist in returning the POW's/MIA's alive.
