This new law calls for many chages, the most notable being accountablility at state & local level for more data on octcomes, establishes a Response to Intervention (RTI) as a 3-tiered model of screeening, monitoring, and intervention, and modifications to the IEP process. This act better alligns IDEA with NCLB.

This 2006 authorization strengthened connection between primary & secondary education; but also requireed programs to link academic and technical content across secondary & post secondary education. This law changed wording from vocational education to career & technical education.
