  • International Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Women and Children

    This convention was assembled by the then-established league of Nations. It recognized the trafficking of children of all ages. It also raises the age limit for protection from twenty to 'twenty-one completed years of age
  • International Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Women of the Full Age

    This was a convention under the League of Nations which was convened based on concerns of the trafficking in women and children. This convention added attempted instances of trafficking to the already-established punishable requirements of trafficking.
  • 1949 Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Persons and of the Exploitation of the Prostitution of Others

    This convention was the first legally binding international agreement relating to Human Trafficking. Because of this critical convention, December second is now the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery (UNODC, "Addressing Trafficking...").
