    Magna Carta

    Signed by King John. Everybody were subjected to the law and had 63 clauses. Conflict with the church and rebel barons agianst the english government.
  • Bill of Rights

    Inspired the US bill of rights in 1789. In December 1689 the new royalty of England ( Mary and William) accepted the bill of rights so they can get to the throne.
  • US declaration of Independence

    June 11-28 Jefferson wrote a document by the idea of natural rights. Benjaming Frankiln and John Adams proofread it. June 7, 1776 Richard Henry Lee first one to argue in favor of the independence. June 11, 1776 the declaration begins.
  • Declaration of Rights of Men

    The National Assembly was created in France. The reign of terror (1789) completely ignorred the declaration. Oct 5 1789 women tried to enter the National Assembly to make the declaration apply also to women but they didn't achieve it.
  • US abolition of slavery

    President Lincoln adopted the abolition of slavery which closed the slave trade. Senate frist approved in April 8, 1864. Approved by Congress and the House on January 31,1865. December 6, 1865, it was approved by the necessary states.
  • Imperialism

    Extension of a countrie's power ove r a territory by force. US 2nd intervention of Mexico in 1914 in Veracruz. Iranian coup d'etat in 1963. US invation of Cuba in 1961. Angola civil war ( 1975-2002). Indian Civil Liberties Association (1936).
  • Holocaust

    Mass killing of 6 million jews by the Nazi regime and its collaborators that happened between 1933 to 1945.Seeing the atrocities that were done in the war, the newly formed United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.After the conflict ended, it resulted in the creation of the Council of Europe, they set forth in applying the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
