S. Carter's son, the animalist, was born in Suoffem (County of Norfolk) on May 9, 1873. -
First experience in excavation
In October, 1891, at the age of 17 years, Howard Carter sailed to Alexandria, Egypt, having gone to the first travel out of borders of England. The cemetery of the Supreme Governors of the Average of Egypt in the Baths Hassan, relating to the second millennium B.C. was its first project; task of the Case was to redraw inscriptions from tomb walls. -

When Carter was 25 years old, his hard work was rewarded when the director of the Egyptian Service of Antiquities, Gaston Maspero, offered it in 1899 a place of the chief inspector of monuments of the Top Egypt. Control and supervision over archaeological works belonged to Carter's duties in a valley of Nile. -
