He saved Britain from an invasion by Napolean. Nelson was killed by a sniper during the battle.His last words were:
" Thank God I have done my duty." -
Unlike most saliors, instead of his body being buried at sea, his was pickled in brandy. He was given a state funeral in London and buried in St Paul's Cathedral.
