    Morrison, John Robert 馬儒翰, son of missionary Robert Morrison 馬禮.
    Newspaper, English: founded by John R. Morrison, Hong Kong's first newspaper, the Hong Kong Gazette 香港公報, is the quasi-official mouthpiece of its bankroller, the office of the British Superintendent of Trade in China, for which the Morrisons work as translators. The newspaper is published in Macau for circulation in Hong Kong, the inaugural issue is dated May 1, 1841.

    Post office: Hong Kong’s first post office opens on November 12, three months after the Postal Department was established. It is situated where the Central Government Offices 中區政府合署 stand today. It will continue to provide postal services until replace in 1846 by a new post office located on Queen’s Road Central near Pedder Street.

    Fok, Canning Kin-ning 霍建寧, Group Managing Director of Hutchison Whampao Ltd.
    Top taxpayer, all time: Fok is the first person to pay more than $100 million ($101 million, to be exact) in personal income tax, for an income north of $870,000,000, or US$116 million. That's a lot of income, the record of the top most income in a year made by a star athlete is held by Tiger Woods in 2008 for US$110 million. Fok's 2006 record remains unchallenged, not even by himself.
