The treaty is signed. Germany has to give up some of its land, and keep its army under 100,000 men, no tanks, no submarines, and only six warships. The Germans detested this treaty, but were forced to agree. They defiantly sunk their own vessels that were captured in the North Sea. This event set the hatred for the rest of Europe for many Germans. It also gave a reason for Germany to invade, to reclaim the lands lost.
