This is how the book starts, with Stanley casually walking under an overpass when suddenly, a pair of shoes falls on him.

Stanley is arrested after being seen with shoes and is tried in court.

Stanley was judged as guilty and had two choices, go to jail, or camp green lake.

Stanley chooses to go to Camp Green Lake and takes the long bus ride there.

After hitting Pendanski, zero slowly backs away from the crowd, then runs away.

Stanley decided to look for Zero by hijacking the water truck. Unfortunately he crashes it and runs away instead.

Stanley meets Mr. Sir at camp.

After learning how things go at camp and putting on his uniform, Stanley is put in group D with Mr. Pendanski.

Stanley then meets the other kids in his group.

Stanley is given his shovel and starts on his hole.

On a random day digging, Stanley finds a lipstick container.

Stanley tells Mr. Pendanski of his find and Pendanski then tells the Warden.

While expanding a hole, Zigzag and Stanley get in a fight.

After a long conversation with their counselor, zero hits Pendanski with his shovel.

Stanley calls Zero's name to see if he is able to be seen or heard.

When Stanley is searching he finds an upside down boat, and when he thought he saw a creature under there, it was really zero and the two relax by the boat.

Stanley and Zero travel to Big Thumb.

Stanley and Zero reach Big Thumb and stay there for like a week.

Stanley and zero return to camp silently and dug in the enlarged whole finding a chest, but are caught by the counselors, Mr. Sir, and the Wardem. Before they could grab the chest from the kids, the adults found lizards all around the kids and the chest.

While waiting to see what the lizards would do, Stanley's lawyer comes.

The lizards eventually leave, so the Warden tried to take the chest, but Zero told her it had Stanley's name on it.

Stanley finds out he is innocent, and Zero is also able to leave, as the camp couldn't find his files, so he wasn't under the camp's jurisdiction, so he and Stanley get in the car with the lawyer and drive off.
