    Birth
    Ho chi minh was born around May 19, 1890 as Nguyen Sinh Cung. Ho was born in central Vietnam, in a small village called Kim Lien. Ho's father's name was Nguyen Sinh Sac and mother's name was Hoang Thi Loan. As he grew up Ho got into trouble by the law and alco changed his own name very frequently, later on he will become a president of Vietnam.

    From 1919 to 1923, Ho began to show an interest in politics while living in France, influenced by his friend and comrade from the Socialist Party of France Marcel Cachin. In Paris he joined the Groupe des Patriotes Annamites (The Group of Vietnamese Patriots). Later, he added the ideology of Marxism to his political thought: he joined the Socialist Party and, later, the Communist Party and he participated in the founding congress of the latter party in December 1920.

    In 1923, Ho Chi Minh moved to Moscow, where he participated in several congresses of the Communist International, which asked him to enter the Military School of Huangpu in order to teach Communist ideas there.

    In April 1927, Chiang Kai-Shek led a slaughter against communists, but Ho Chi Minh managed to escape and organised two revolutions in Siam (Thailand) and China. Ho Chi Minh founded the Communist Party of Vietnam. French occupation of Vietnam was substituted with Japanese occupation.

    In 1930, Ho Chi Minh created a group called the Indochinese Communist Party in Hong Kong .This group was led by himself. The effects on Vietnam after the group was formed resulted to near starvation and it filled a long large area across central Vietnam and was also astonishing because they give Vietnam independence from France but starved others and recruited people that didn't have the will to fight. This group is important because leads to many revolutions soon to come.

    He fought in the guerrilla movement during the five years of Japanese occupation. To free the country from the new invasion, he founded the Viet Minh, or Front for the Liberation of Vietnam. He also creates a guerrilla army led by Võ Nguyên Giáp, one of the most prestigious revolutionary generals in the world.

    The Viet Minh organized the general insurrection, achieved national independence (declared in Hanoi on September 2,1945) and founded the Democratic Republic of Vietnam , a communist state . But when the French colonialists returned in 1946 , a new war broke out that lasted for nine years. On November 24, 1946, the French bombed Haiphong , with more than 6,000 fatalities.

    Ho Chi Minh became president of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam). He introduced agrarian reforms and maintained good relations with socialist countries such as China, North Korea, Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union. A coup led by Ngo Dinh Diem and supported by the US took place in South Vietnam. Catholic Vietnamese migrated to the south, while buddhists and communists migrated to the North.

    The war against the French was followed by a war between North Vietnam and South Vietnam, who were supported by the United States. The United States sent a large military force to fight the North Vietnamese army and the VC in 1965 and withdrew in 1973. The war ended in 1975, more than 5 years after Ho death, when forces of North Vietnam invaded the South and defeated its army. More than 1.3 million people died.

    Ho Chi Minh died in Vietnam. Minh died at the age of 79 as the first president of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. His death was significant because many events occurred after his death and my buildings and monuments were built.
