  • First sports

    First noted participation of women sports, it was the first gold and tennis team.

    The first public women's baseball game was held where people had to pay to get in. It was the Blondes vs the Brunettes.

  • AAU

    AAU formed for amateaur men and women. (Amateur Athletic Union)

  • Paris

    Women compete in Paris Olympics playing golf, tennis, and croquet.

  • Bowling

    The first organized women's bowling league is created in St. Louis, Missouri.

  • AAU again

    Track and field is open to women by the AAU.

  • Figure skating

    The only sport available to women in the winter games is figure skating.

  • London

    For the first time, every single country participating in the 2012 London Olympics had female athletes.

  • Volleyball

    The US won their first volleyball world championship.

  • Becky Hammon

    Becky Hammon ired as frist full time assistant coach in the NBA, and in all of North America.

    Cardinals hire Jennifer Welter as a coaching intern for training camp. She is named the first NFl assistant coach.

    Becky Hammon is the spurs' summer league coach, was first woman to coach and she won the summer league championship.

    Sarah Thomas becomes the first full-time female official in the NFL.
