    This Amendment was put into place because after the Civil War people believed African American should have more rights. Section one states that all US citizens have the right to vote. No matter on their race, color, or if they were once a slave. In all these states that there should be racial equality in voting. In terms, this Amendment eliminated racial barriers in voting. Although some states still enforced racial barriers this was a step in helping African Americans have equal rights.

    Passage of the 17th Amendment
    This amendment came up because the original voting method left the Senate seats vacant for a period of time. The reason this being was because of disagreements between the two houses. This amendment stated that the senators should be elected directly by the voters. This allowed the Senators constitutional powers to stay in place. This also allowed for both houses to have equal power. Which made for a better more established government.

    What leads to this event was when women organized a women's suffrage movement. Section one stated that everyone has the right to vote no matter what sex they are. Thus giving rights to all sexes for years to come. With this power, women began to partake in men's jobs. This made for equal opportunities even though people were different sexes. This also established the basis for not only sexes but for all people to be equal no matter what.

    The reason this was made because even with the 15th amendment African Americans still had restricted rights to vote. So to counter this they would focus on one part of voting at a time. This amendment was meant to address one specific issue. The issue that was addressed was poll tax. This Amendment made it illegal to charge a voter who wanted to cast a ballot. This lead to further development to establish equal rights for African Americans.

    What leads to this event was the fact that people the age of eighteen could be drafted into the military but yet could not vote for the people who declare war and peace. This amendment lowered the voting age to eighteen. After this amendment was put in place other obstacles such as poll taxes have been changed. It also allowed more people to vote. This changed the outcomes of elections.
