    Doctor Nicolas Monardes
    Date unknown besides the year of 1571, doctor Nicolas Monardes discovered and wrote a book about plants being used for medical purposes and he stated that tobacco could be used to cure 36 different things.

    The R.J. Reynolds Tobacco company started to make a production of chewing tobacco. Fun fact, this is also the same company now known as "Reynolds Wrap" foil.

    Onces the boom of cigarettes became more popular, the company R.J. Reynolds Tobacco produced the now company company Camel Cigarettes. This company now makes multiple different types of cigarettes from non-menthol to menthol, as well as cigarettes that can go from non-menthol to menthol is the same cigarettes with the pop of a ball in the filter.

    During World War 1 the demand for cigarettes rose while soldiers used them as relief during the war. Cigarettes then got the nickname "Soldier's Smoke."

    Since the Camel brand took over 45% of the U.S. market the company 'American Tobacco Company' introduced a new brand called Lucky Strike and targeted women. The cause of this helped for the American Tobacco Company to gain 35% of the U.S. market. Between the U.S. years of 1925-1935 this boom called for triple use of tobacco in female teenagers.

    In the years before 1966 they started to discover all the underlying health issues from being a smoker. Soon enough in 1966 they began putting health warnings on cigarettes. Surgeon General warnings on cigarette packs started informing people about, low pregnancy birth weights, lung diseases, and that by quitting you can greatly reduce health risks.

    The Great American Smokeout started in 1977 with the American Cancer Society. The smokeout is done in November of every year to help promote quitting smoking. This day is used to educate people on the harms of smoking, and also give them a time they can use to stop. It helps them start a goal to quit, and the Great American Smokeout is still done today.

    The year of 1987 was the start of smoking on airline bans. It start with flights under 2 hours. A few years after it changed to only flights to Hawaii and Alaska and now, it isnt allowed on any airline.
