    Democritus

    Democritus
He started his studies around the 5th century B.C. He had an idea of the atom and made an experiment to prove it. He broke up a piece of gold until he couldn't anymore and he discovered it was still an atom.
  • John Dalton's Model

    John Dalton's Model
He researched olefiant gas and hydrogen. He also discovered the different properties in chemical combinations.
  • Henri Becquerel

    Henri Becquerel
He investigated the connections between x-rays and salt. He also an element in the uranium atom.
  • William Crookes

    William Crookes
He discovered the properties in the cathode rays and he broke up yttrium to look at the spectrums.
  • J.J. Thompson

    J.J. Thompson
He tested that Lenard rays could travel a longer distance through air. He also discovered that cathode rays were 1,000 times lighter.
  • Niels Bohr's Model

    Niels Bohr's Model
He discovered the hydrogen atom. He noticed the electrons rotate circularly around the nucleous of the atom but only som orbits are permitted.
  • Ernest Rutherford's Model

    Ernest Rutherford's Model
He studied the nuclei of the atoms and he discovered the nuclei of light atoms could be disintegrated.
  • James Chadwick

    James Chadwick
James Chadwick proved the existance of the neutron and he tested how all the parts work together.
  • Current day Current Day Model

    Current day Current Day Model
The current day atomic model is John Daltons atomic model.
