The second generation Corvette was made by Larry Shinoda and introduced Sting Ray to the model.

The third generation Corvette was patterned after the Mako Shark concept car and was the first to use T-top removable roofs.

The first fourth generation was the first redesign of the corvette since the 1963 model. Approximately 43 prototypes were made but never sold. The regular fourth generation was manufactured on January 3, 1984.

Production for this model began in 1997 and ended in 2004. It has a top speed of 181 mph (291 km/h). For it's first year it was a coupe but was later redesigned to be a convertible.

The Corvette sixth generation kept the front engine from the previous Corvette fifth generation. But included new bodywork.

In development since 2007 the Corvette C7 was set to be released as the 2011 model but was delayed for 3 years.
