    The first 78-RPM records were made of shellac or wax in the 19th century, but in 1904 they were replaced with a type of plastic, then in the 1970s these records were pressed on recycled vinyl. It is played on a phonograph. It plays music. They are still popular today because tehy can, unlike today's CDs they can be used on a turntable for DJs.

    SSDs had origins in the 1950s. They require a computer or even now adays could be hooked to gaming consoles. They can hold anywhere up to 1 GB to 4 terabytes. These are more popular than Hard Disk Drives because they don't have any moving parts. They include many things including flash drives, memory cards, etc...

The device used to retrieve data is a type of radio that can be a car radio made by GE and many other companies, and a radio that plays out of the car. It used a tape head as the reading mechanism and it's encoded in an analog signal. These were popular during the late 1960s to the early 1980s. Radios stopped playing them to various computer-based methods. They ultimately fell to CDs

It was popular during the late 20th century. It declined in use because of competitor's products such as the Iomega Zip Disk
