    Myspace starts and everyone becomes friends with "Tom"
    Myspace allows you to customize your profiles and teaches us all coding withouts even realizing.
    You could also have your favorite song playing while you have your friends view your profile.
  • Youtube

    Youtube begins. It allows users to post and share videos.
  • Twitter

    Twitter begins and everyone starts off as an egg.
    Users could share their thoughts using 180 characters or less.
  • Smartphones/iPhone

    Smartphones are the new wave as users can browse the web and their favorite websites. Smartphone applications allowed the users to use their favorite websites more easily. The were like pocket sized computers
  • Pintrest

    Pintrest begins. It allows users to post ideas and recipes then provides a link where the user can purchase the product that was posted.
  • Instagram

    Instagram begins and is growing rapidly. This was a picture sharing platform where users could share and post pictures to their followers who can "like" and comment of them
  • Facebook Reaches 1 Billion users

    The social media website known as Facebook reaches 1 Billion users worldwide and becomes the largest social media platform. It seems like everyone you know has a facebook from friends from kindergarten to grandparents, aunts and uncles.

    Google decides to give social media a try and start its own social media website
  • Vine

    Just like Instagram but with short 6 second videos that were known for their quick jump cuts
  • Snapchat

    Picture sharing made easier. Snapchat was a smartphone application that allowed the user to share a picture or a video that lasted up to 10 seconds. Once the time ran out the picture was no longer available to view
  • Vine Ends

    After being bought out by Twitter Vine decides to call it quits by ending its social media website.
