A robot arm was made in China is trying to earn a placement on the International Space Station(ISS). The robot arm was built to participate in the construction of the large mulinational orbiting outpost. The mechanical arm is part of China;s continuous research effort on robotics that has spanned more than a decade. -
First Robotics Competition
The First Robotics Competition is a national progam that challenges teams of students and their mentors to solve a common problem in a six week time frame. The competition waas held from March 29-31. The team must use a standard "kit of parts" and a common set of rules. The competittion has grown to more than 1,000 teams competing in 23 regional events. -

On July 1,2009, a presentation was held at Bron Research Institute near Lyon, France,part of EU-funded Robot Cub Project. The icb robot is about the same size as a three year old child. The robot has highly skilled hands and fully articulated heads and eyes. They have hearing and touch capabilities and are designed to sit crawl on all fours an to sit up. -

MicroRobots were being deveolped in many research centers, but the first one that has been able to crawl into the body developed by"Fantastic Voyage"researchers at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. The robot is propelled by by microlegs,a mechanism especially adapted to movements of a tiny body through water. -

On October 23,2010,OSMI, held the Oregon Science and Engineering Festival. Students were working on their robot designs or giving information to the visitors. A fews teams were scrimmaging ,using their First Robotics Competition robots from the previous years. They played a 2v2 team,and the winner was whoever passed more soccer balls through their teams goalboxes. -
Field Robots
