    Planet of the apes was different to other post-apocalyptic films made in it's time because this didn't relate to any real life fears. many films made during this era were based on nuclear war.
  • The omega man

    Made in 1971 based on the novel I Am Legend the Omega man is the classic last man on Earth story. A Biological war has killed most of the world’s human population. Army Colonel Robert Neville (Charlton Heston) is immune and rules Los Angeles by day trying to track down and kill the other survivors who have joined together, thought the other survivors are mutants. This film links to biological warfare which was a typical storyline for a post-apocalyptic film during the 70's.

    The road is based on two main characters a father and son who somehow survived a enviromental disaster, through the story they are trying to find somewhere safe with other survivors. this post-apocalyptic film is based on a enviromental disaster, by basing the story on this it makes the film more thrilling because the audience can relate to enviromental disasters.
