  • Cross-Bronx Expressway Opens

    As explained in the video, the Cross-Bronx Expressway had numerous effects of the dynamics of New York, both intended and unintended. Headed by Robert Moses, the project was created to serve the car, and allow easier access to Westchester, increasing urban sprawl and suburbinization. It also devasted many neighborhoods in the South Bronx, and has been blamed for some of the economic and social problems plaguing that area today
