3000 BC - The first nail polish contained bees wax, gelatin, gum arabic, and egg whites. It was originated in China. They would sit there hands in the mixture and several hours later there nails would turn red or pink.

600 BC - During the chou dynasty only the royal wore gold and silver nail polish. If the lower class tryed to wear nail polish they would be punished by death!

1800 - Some people cookbooks from the 19th century had recipes for nail polish , Using red oils and polished with chamiois cloth.

1900 - Some women started using creams to massage there hands before adding a clear varnish.

1960 - Usually made from nitrocellulose dissolved in a solvent. Then colored with left clear or various pigments.

2006 - companies started testing nail polish to make sure there wasnt many toxics. They then began improving polishes

2012 - nail polish now comes in many colors and kinda such as glitter , or crackle. And all the colors you could think of! Without hurting your hands.
