    Elvis Presley was a teen idol and known as the King of Rock and Roll. He was filmed in his first movie called Love Me Tender. All his ginles went gold including his hits Heartbreak Hotel, Blue Swade Shoes, Hound Dog, My Baby Left Me, Love Me Tender, Jailhouse Rock and Hound Dog.

Other British groupd were The Rolling Stones, The Animals, The Monkees, The Hollies, The Troggs, The Zombies, The Who, The Bee Gees, Hermans Hermits, The Kinks, and the Dave Clark Five.

    In California several American bands were trying to change the music by combining music and surf. Influences were rock and roll and blues. Major artist were The Beach Boys, The Ventures, The Mamas and the Papas, and Jan and Dean.

    Was the age of peace, love and happiness. Of hippies and bright clothing. A concert that lasted 3 days of love and music. 400,00 people attended. Major artist were Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan.

    Disco is short for Discotheque. Influences were Soul and Funk. Major artist were ABBA, Village People, Donna Summer, Kc and the Sunshine Band. People had afros and feather hair, Clothing were bell bottoms and mini skirts. Bright colors and prints.
