History of Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

    Slaves lived in these cabins while they tended to the plantations.
  • Burial Grounds were created.

    The burial grounds were created because of a yellow fever outbreak in Charleston.
  • The original house was destoyed by union troops.

  • Magnolia Gardens were opened to the public.

    The gardens were opened in order to raise money to reconstruct the damage done by the American Revolution.

    The existing house was built is open to the public for tours still today.
