    The vinyll was the first piece of technology that allowed people music to be recorded and listened to. It was played on a device called a Gramphone.

    The cassette tape was first created in the 1930's, however grew in popularity in the 1960's. Just like the vinyll, the cassette tape allowed people to record and play audio files, like music.
  • Compact Disc (CD)

    Compact Disc (CD)
    The CD was first created in the 1980's, allowing people to take their music with them, whereever they went. The dics could be played in a walkman or CD player.
  • MP3 Player

    MP3 Player
    The MP3 player was able to be carried around with people so that they could listen to their music. As it developed over time, it was small enough to fit into their pockets. It was 4GB in size and held about 100 songs.
  • First iPod

    First iPod
    Apple released it's first portable device, also known as the iPod in 2001. It was bigger than the MP3, holding up to 5-10GB of audio files.
  • iPod Shuffle

    iPod Shuffle
    In 2004, Apple continued to develop the iPod and released the iPod Shuffle. Just like the first iPod created, it was portable but a lot smaller in size.

    iPod Touch
    Not as small in size, the iPod developed into a slimmer device that had a touch screen. Along with allowing its users to listen to music, it enables them to be able to play games and take videos and photos.

    Apples iPods and iPhones are always changing and developing to let their customers keep in touch with their family and friends, as well as listen to music they love. These devices allow people to listen to music by buying apps of online audio services and buying music from the Apple Store.
