The Spaniards were the first people to settle in Jamaica, while it was still a spanish region. They settled in St. Ann's Bay area. Naming their first town New Seville. Which became their first Capitol.

William Penn & Robert Venables attacked Jamaica. The Jamaicans surrendered to the english & freed their slaves. The set of freed slaves were later known as the maroons.
