    It all started in Spain with a very small 4-stringed guitar. It was invented by the people of Malaga during the Renaissance Period. Each string back then was called a course.
  • New Adjustments

    They added the fifth course which is called the low A. This guitar was made during the Baroque Period or the Classical Period.

    New changes were made. The double strings on the guitars were replaced by single strings. Also there were six stringed guitars.

    The Resurection of the Guitar

    Bere long the guitars weren't so popluar duing the early 1800's and its popularity alomst died if it weren't for Antonio de Torres resurrecting it by changing its size and volume. He was known as the father of modern guitars. He had theories staring with adding fans to the guitars.

    The steel strings on the guitar were invented by the Hawaiians after they were caught up in european music and thought steel string guitars had better sound. The steel strings were used for the ukelele.

    Electric
    This was the period when electric guitars were made. Adolf Rickenbacker was the inventor of the amplifiable electric guitars. It wasn't until 1932 when the electric guitar was used.

    Albert Augustine was the inventor of the classical guitars nylon srtings in 1947.

    Sitars & Psychedelic Rock

    Sitars & Psychedelic Rock
    Indians have created there own version of the guitars which are called sitars. To us the sound like a very low tuned guitar. This kind of instrument was used during the psychedelic rock era. This was the time period of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Jimmy Hendrix.
