    China: In 1521, Battle of Tunmen. Ming imperial navy defeated a Portuguese fleet led by Diogo Calvo. Because the Portuguese kidnapped child slaves along the Chinese coast to sell in Portuguese Malacca, occupied Tunmen and traded without permission.

    GA: The First Settlement in Georgia Which Connected to the World.

    GA: In 1526, “Lucas Vazquez de Ayllon, a financial backer of these slave raids, tried to establish a permanent settlement on the Georgia coast called San Miguel de Gualdape. ” It ended after six weeks because of the death of de Ayllon, disease, starvation, fights between people. It was the first settlement in Georgia which connected to the world.

    China: The Chief Grant Secretary, Zhang Juzheng, was the engineer of these reforms. His first major measure simplified land classifications. The second measure combined land taxes. Third, both land and labor taxes were computed. Finally, the government established uniform tax collection dates to reduce the possibility of tax fraud and evasion.
