    Early British Sport

    Football Started 1500s
    Football was rough and then caused serious injuries.
    There was no referees therefore there was a lot of unnecessary violence
    Women were not allowed to play.
  • 1500

    Agricultural society

    -People still had no money
    -People were involved in gambling,fighting drinking and dog fighting, they did this for their own entertainment.
    -There were no rules in any of these sports and this meant that a lot of unnecessary violence occurred.
  • Influence on public schools

    -only the "upper class" people could afford an education in schools
    -Sports that had skills with in them were the most popular as people could improve and develop their skills.
    - Football was one of the most popular sports as people were influence by the war.
  • Industrial Revolution

    -People were starting to have spare money in which they could in afford to spend money on leisurely activities
    -The people who couldn't afford to participate in the sports, had to sit and spectate and were there to support. -Rationalism-
    the Victorians developed fields and playing grounds for people in, this is a large aspect of exercise , as people nowadays can go and kick a football around in a field in their own time for free.
  • Mob Football

    This is where football originated from.
    -There was no rules
    -There was a lot of unnecessary violence
    - Games of mob football were played in both towns and countryside's
  • Influence on War

    -The war influence a lot of people massively in sport. for example when they wanted to relax they would play their desired sport.
    - On Christmas day during the war the soldiers joined and they all played a game of football
  • 20th Century

    -People started to have more money as working conditions started to improve, and they pay started to increase
    -Working hours decreased therefore left people with more leisure time to play their chosen sport.
