Rufus M. Eastman was the first to patient a blender of any sort. This patent was made November 17, 1885 and stated that it could be powered by mechanical, water or electrical power.

Not many patents came after this until 1910, but most were issued between 1920 and 1930.

Many blenders into the 1920's looked very similar.
The motor stood on a separate iron stand and was usually adjustable. -
In 1922, Stephen Poplawski, from Racine, Wisconsin was the first to invent what is now sought of as a blender.

In 1935 Fred Waring joined up with Frederick Osius and marketed the Waring Blendor.

By World War II and into the 1950’s, a new mixer, which was mounted on a stand and had a bowl underneath, was replacing the glass-bottomed design.

In 1954 the millionth Waring Blendor was sold and they are still popular today.
