    First Camera Successfully Built
    The first camera was successfully built in 1816. The camera was built by Nicéphore Niépce. This was the first piece of equipment to capture film and pictures of real life things.
  • First Film Ever

    Eadweard Muybridge made "The Horse In Motion" to win a bet. He did this by lining cameras up and taking pictures of a horse running by. When they were put together, it showed that indeed the horse could have all four hooves off the ground. This ended up being the first film ever, even though it lasted only a few seconds.

    Creation Of The Movie Projector
    In 1895, the Lumiere brothers made one of the first movie projectors. This projector was different, however, and could show movies to multiple people on a screen. The brothers would do what Edison could not: show multiple people movies.

    Thomas Edison (Producer) and Edwin Porter (Director) made "The Great Train Robbery", which was the first actual movie released. It was 12 minutes long and featured four robbers stealing a train and some money. Back then, it blew peoples minds that there was an actual movie, granted it was only 12 minutes long.

    The silent era was in full swing, with actors now getting paid. Charlie Chapman, one of the biggest comic genius' of that time, was making around 1 million dollars a year! Talkies started to come around in the 1920's and 30's, but the films were mostly silent.

    "The Jazz Singer" features an actor talking and singing for the first time, which blew peoples minds again. It was the first one of its kind to get recognized, and soon the new era of talkies had begun.

    "The Wizard Of Oz" and "Gone With The Wind" were both released in 1939, featuring color for most of, if not all of the film. The color was made by techicolor, and most movie featured colors after these were released.

    In 2019, Marvel released Avengers:Endgame. It was the culmination of the MCU (22 movies, 10 years), and relied heavily on CGI to deliver a great experience. It was such a huge hit, that it recently passed "Avatar" for the biggest and most successful movie in history.
