    Thomas Edison created the kinetoscope, inventing a way for people to watch motion pictures. It was only available to one individual at a time. It started the idea of showing motion pictures to more people

    Auguste and Louis Lumiere invented the cinematographe. This was used to project motion pictures onto a screen. It could also be used to film and print.
  • The First Movie

    in 1903, Edwin Porter produced the first film with a narrative. It was called the Great Train Robbery. It featured 14 scenes and was 12 minutes long. This paved the way for other films to be created.
