  • Plessy V. Ferguson

    The United States Supreme Court ruled in the Plessy v. Ferguson it's allowed to segregate schools/ public facilities if they'd received the same quality, "seprate but equal".
  • The SAT Test

    Originally, the Scholastic Aptitude Test, was created to eliminate test bias between people from different socio-economic backgrounds.   • Brown V. Board of Education

    The Brown V. Board of Education court case where the United States Supreme Court ruled that racial segregation in schools was unconstitutional, "separate education facilities are inherently unequal", A correction/ positive ruling.
  • The ACT Test

    Originally, the American College Testing program, was created to test the subjects learned in school as opposed to the SAT (testing cognitive reasoning skills). It's a 2 hour and 55 minute test, not including the writing, with the best possible score of 36. The ACT test English, Mathamatics, Reading & Science!
  • Higher Education Act (HEA)

    On November 8, 1965, President Lyndon Johnson signed off on the Higher Education Act meant to “strengthen the educational resources of our colleges and universities and to provide financial assistance for students in postsecondary and higher education”. https://highereducationact.org/
  • Apple

    Apple started donating the Apple II computer to schools within 2yr of it's creation, it failed. But the article later mentioned, "So in turn, under its Kids Can’t Wait program, Apple donated a computer to each of the roughly 9000 eligible elementar and secondar schools in California. (Schools with fewer than 100 students did not qualify.)" in 1982! It's become the most well-known brand in the world.   • Google

    According to Entrepreneur, "Google is a global archive storing our history as it is made. It is as though a virtual world is being created right alongside our real world, a simulation of reality that grows more robust by the day [...] the creation and storage of information itself has expanded exponentially as people and scholars have access to information that enables them to make new discoveries."   • No Child Left Behind Act

    President Goerge W. Bush's No Child Left Behind Act was made official on January 8, 2002. It helped "disadvantaged" students attain a basic level of understanding, before improving/ moving into a grade level. It affected all state schools & grade levels, to receive federal school funding. It required students to test on Reading & Math, it's complicated, I remember flipping back-and-forth on their importance. (more or less)
