    Benjamin Franklin wanted to established a school house to teach a more modern curriculum. So he established the University of Pennsylvania, which would teach classes of English, math, history, and Astronomy. This lead to the modern curriculum that we use today based off of Ben's.

    After the Revolutionary war Noah Webster decided that he didn't like the British English text book ant rewrote it while changing the English language for America. These changes were taught and change the way Americans use the English language even today.
  • Native American Boarding Schools

    Boarding schools were established so that the US could "Kill the Indian and save the man" which involved taking Indian Children education them and taking away their identity throw harsh punishment. This change the way schools deal with punishment by not having cruel and unusual punishment, and to cultural classes to their cultural doesn't die out like America tried with the native Americans.

    When World War 2 America began doing the standardize testing, where they would see the level the students were performing at various fields like science, math and English. This helps schools know what they need to improve on when it comes to some of their academics, These tests are still in use in schools today.

    When Sputnik had launch America was afraid since they were losing the space raise. AS such America implanted a plan for schools which was called "Back to Basics" which went back to a focus and academics then the students. This caused schools to teach more strict subjects to help develop the students knowledge. Which is still in place today.
