Dental hygiene exist as a profession as part of the State Dental Practice Act -

Prior to this date, hygienists in Idaho were not permitted to administer local anesthetic -

Just a few short years after being able to administer local anesthetic, hygienists in Idaho were also granted the ability to administer nitrous oxide, with limitations. -

Authorization for procedures performed under general supervision by dental hygienists added to the Dental Practice Act. -

Allows hygienists in the state of Idaho to practice dental hygiene outside of the traditional office setting -
