  • Presser v., State of Illinois

    Supreme Court ruling that the Second Amendment of the Constitution limits only the federal government, not the individual states' restrictions regarding the Right to Bear Arms (Presser v. Illinois, 1886).
  • National Firearms Act Enacted

    Congress enacted the National Firearms Act, which requires registration and taxation for manufacturing and transferring certain weapons (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, 2012).
