  • 1980 - Pacman released

    1980 - Pacman released
    A Japanese creator by the name of Toru Iwatani released Pac Man on May 22, 1980. This game took American game creators by surprise as it's success was not expected. This game helped kick start the gaming generation and is considered the "most influential video game."
  • 1981 - Osborne 1

    1981 - Osborne 1
    On April 3, 1981 the Osborne Computer Corporation created the first microcomputer, or what is known as a "laptop" nowadays. This computer weighed 24.5 pounds and didn't have a built in battery and had to be plugged in to wall outlets. This helped pave the way to future laptop creations in the future.
  • 1983 - Microsoft Word

    1983 - Microsoft Word
    On October 25, 2983 Microsoft released its first version of Microsoft Word. It was known as Multi-Tool Word at that time. The release of this new technology helped incorporate the use of it in school and work.
  • 1984 - Laser Jet Printer

    1984 - Laser Jet Printer
    In May of 1984 Hewlett-Packard Company, or known as HP today, released the first laser jet printer. This was the first ever desktop laser printer created and made for personal use. It paved the way for at-home computer users to have more external hardware for them to use.

    Gene Mosher was working hard to create touch screen graphics but in November of 1986 he was invited to introduce his new technology at Comdex Las Vegas. Nowadays almost all technology is touch screen in part, thanks to him.
