Coca-Cola was invented in 1886 by John S. Pemberton. Frank. M. Robinson, his partner, suggested the name Coca-Cola. He thought "the two Cs would look well in advertsing."
-
In 1890, for just one year, Coca-Cola changed their logo. It changed to en extra swirly font.
-
Keeping the same font, they placed an arciform shape. This shape is also called the Fishtail.

Coca-Cola was underlined with the white wave also known as the "Dynamic Ribbon." It's based on a curve reflecting the contour of the bottle.
-
The formula for Coca-Cola changed because Pepsi was gaining more sales. The New Coke was then boycotted until Coca-Cola changed back to original formula.
-
From 1987 - 2003 the old logo was brought back after the failure of "new Coke." A silver ribbon was added to the white. The ribbon also connected to the second "O" in Coca-Cola.
-
It ws common for Coca-Cola to be in a circle in the 90s, and is still used for advertising today. Attached to it, a green banner read "Always." This was apart of the main slogan of that time, "Always Coca-Cola."

In 1996, the white ribbon was taken out. Instead of white, the words Coca-Cola was changed to red with a black shadow.
-
Because of the Coca-Cola Real campaign, a yellow wave was added. Along with that, the white wave was changed and bubbles were added.
-
In 2009, "Classic" was removed because it was longer needed to distinguish it from New Coke.
